In this short article we will see how to fix module 31 using the Dir Editor in PC-3000 Marvell utility even if we can’t move the translator to another place in SA.

We have got the Western Digital drive WD5000LPVX-00V0TT0, 500 Gb. The drive started good with full ID:

但是很多模塊都被損壞，包括關(guān)鍵的31：
but a lot of modules are damaged, including the critical 31:

我們先手動檢查磁頭是否可以寫SA ?。接下來，我們讀取31，錯誤忽略，看看模塊中的重要數(shù)據(jù)是否沒有損壞。我們看到模塊的開始是好的：
We check if heads can write in SA?first. Next we read the 31 with error ignoring to see if the important data in module is not damaged. We see that the beginning of the module is good:

向下滾動后，我們看到00部分以前的重要模塊是好的，模塊中的壞扇區(qū)位于00的區(qū)域。
After the scroll down we see that important module before 00 part is good, and the bad sector in module is located in area with 00.

模塊31相當(dāng)大，如果我們嘗試使用Dir編輯器將其移動到另一個區(qū)域，則由于SA中的許多壞扇區(qū)，我們無法成功完成該過程。
The module 31 is pretty large, and if we try to move it to another area using the Dir Editor, we can not finish the process successfully because of a lot of bad sectors in SA.

We opened the Dir Editor

并選擇模塊31
and selected the module 31

我們可以看到，模塊位于ABA 6629 和大小為1445.我們看到模塊31中的編譯數(shù)據(jù)僅使用模塊的開頭，模塊的其余部分填寫為00。
As we can see, the module is located in 6629 ABA and оccupies 1445. We saw that the translation data in module 31 fills only the beginning of module, the rest part of module is filled by 00.

我們嘗試將模塊31的大小從1445改為100.我們選擇了大小100，因?yàn)樵趦蓚€SA副本中，在第一個壞塊之前只有1/10的模塊是可讀的。
Let’s try to change the size of module 31 from 1445 to 100. We selected the size 100 because only 1/10 of module was readable before the 1st bad block in both SA copies.

按確定并將更改保存在目錄中：
Press OK and save the changes in Dir:

并重新啟動驅(qū)動器。
and restart the drive.

如果我們在重新啟動后檢查模塊，我們可以看到CS是正常的，但頭部錯誤：
If we check the module after restart, we can see the CS ok, but the header error:

但是盡管如此，所有的用戶數(shù)據(jù)變得可以讀?。?br /> But despite of that, all the user data becomes available:

我們想提醒一下在使用SA的任何操作之前保存模塊的必要性，特別是使用忽略錯誤的復(fù)合讀取保存編譯器的方法。
We would like to remind about the necessity to save the modules before any actions with SA, especially save the translator using the composite reading with error ignoring.
